Get to know the Artist
Greta Benavides works with multiple mediums in hopes to bring the viewer closer to the world around us. Constructing with textiles and wood, painting on canvas and paper, I have created works representing the serenity and culture of the world as well as documentation of current events.
The textiles wall hanging and quilts depict cultures around the world through fussy cut technique and painting. Using college and assemblage, documents current events, the viewer observes historical events. Traveling to Mexico and United States with my service dog Emmy, I have depicted the serene life of cultures around us through textiles and paintings.
Embracing various cultures in my series of textiles, paintings, and wood wall reliefs , I strive to bring the world a little closer together with peace and dignity. With knowledge comes understanding and tolerance of different cultures.
